Our travel teams have provided an affordable opportunity for New Haven area players to compete against club teams across New England since 2015. Although we do give preference to players from New Haven, as we are a New Haven Youth and Recreation program, our travel programs are open to anyone in the area.
Our offerings for travel teams are as follows.
Girls Travel Program
Girls 18U
Our 18U travel team is our longest standing age group and is for girls in grades 9-12 who are looking to improve and play competitively after their high school season is over. Our season runs from tryouts the week before Thanksgiving in November to the last scheduled tournament in late April or early May. The 18U program dues are $250, alongside a $60 USAV full-season membership. The $250 fee exclusively covers NERVA tournament registration and uniform costs for each player. While we strive to make our program one of the most affordable competitive travel programs in New England, we also understand that a $250 payment may be difficult for some families, and do have payment plans available for families whose players successfully make the team.
Our 18U team has the most competitive play schedule of our girls teams, as the cost of larger tournaments is offset through fundraising during the summer clinics. Any proceeds from our summer programming go directly toward adding convention center tournaments to our schedule. Our 14U travel team is a new addition to our program as of the 2023 season, and is intended for girls in grades 6-8 who are looking to learn and improve their fundamental volleyball skills before their next (or first) school season. Our season runs from tryouts the week before Thanksgiving in November to the last scheduled tournament in late April or early May. The 14U program dues are $250, alongside a $60 USAV full-season membership. The $250 fee exclusively covers NERVA tournament registration and uniform costs for each player. While we strive to make our program one of the most affordable competitive travel programs in New England, we also understand that a $250 payment may be difficult for some families, and do have payment plans available for families whose players successfully make the team.
Our 14U team has a generally less competitive play schedule than our 18U team partially due to the level of experience many of our girls have. However, beginning in the 2024 season, we will be looking to add a convention center tournament to the schedule – pending our summer fundraising efforts. Any proceeds from our summer programming go directly toward adding convention center tournaments to our schedule. Below is our 2023 season tournament schedule.

Boys Travel Program
Boys 18UBeginning in the 2023-2024 season, we going to offer a competitive travel option for high school (grades 9-12) boys in the area! The season will run from mid-October to mid-March, and program dues will be similar to the dues for the girls travel teams (approximately $250, although this number may change slightly as we finalize uniform and tournament registration costs).
We hosted summer clinics in 2023 to begin generating interest from boys in the community, with proceeds from those clinics going toward adding convention center tournaments to the team schedule. The 2023-2024 tournament schedule is as follows:
